Anyone out there have any magical tips for getting ball point pen and colored markers out of wood?

OMG, next time make sure you only have washable markers available when children live in the house. Or in my case, when they visit Mom Mom. This is from the person who just scrubbed grape juice out of her Oriental carpet. Today there were three children at the house and at this point, it was the juice fairy who ran through the house with it. As far as the wood, you may have to sand it out.
Have you ever tried Mr.Clean magic eraser. It probably will get out the marker and might fade the pen mark. The pen probably dug into the wood, I know because my kids did the same thing. You might have to sand it out like Pat said. Me, I'm going to wait until the kids are gone and I can get a new table.
Rubbing alcohol, or maybe Goo Gone.
I have a sheet of clear vinyl over my wood table as a tablecloth of sorts. We have a world map and a U.S. map under the table cloth, which makes a nice conversation piece. The vinyl is relatively inexpensive and can be found at most fabric stores.
